Lil Cavs Cheerleading Camp is back!

The Angels in Action (PTO) annual candy sale will begin August 28th! Keep an eye out for more information to come home with your oldest/only child to see how you can support the school through this fundraiser.

Just a reminder to our families, returning and new, that we have a particular traffic pattern for dismissal at the end of the school day for those who use the parking lots. All cars in the parking lot must park facing the church building (thus disregarding the parking space lines), and will be dismissed one row at a time. This includes the back rows. All cars must wait to leave the parking lot until they are dismissed. This is for the safety of students and staff alike. Please find attached the picture that was originally shared when we adopted this new procedure back in January to refresh yourself before dismissal today.

Tomorrow is the first day of the 2024-2025 school year and the best way to stay in the loop is by downloading our new app and turning on notifications! We are sharing an app with Lehman High School, so families with students at both will just need the one app and can toggle between the two schools. The app and website will combine all of our most helpful information and communication into one. Use the QR code on the attached flyer, or you can find it by searching "Lehman Partner Schools" in your device's app store. There is no login needed on the app. Once you open the app, Lehman High School will be the initial homepage. To switch to Holy Angels, select MENU then press Holy Angels Catholic School under My Organizations. Then you will switch to Holy Angels' homepage, where you can click enable notifications (highly recommended!), and click the Gear icon for settings, then Default Organization, then you can update the default organization from Lehman Catholic High School to Holy Angels Catholic School. For those that have kids at both, you can toggle in between both schools easily on the same app. And don't forget to check out our brand new website at www.holyangelscatholic.com! See you tomorrow!

Keep an eye out for more information about the Harvest Mum Buddies sale and how you can support the Lehman Junior High Athletics Program.

The 2024-2025 School Year Kick-Off Open House is TONIGHT, Monday, August 19th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This will be the school year kickoff and is the best time for families to drop off school supplies, pick up start-of-year forms and paperwork, get student agendas and handbooks, drop off medication, and meet your teachers. Although attendance at Open House is not required, it is HIGHLY recommended. Families who are completely new to Holy Angels are invited to arrive at 5pm for a short informational session to help go over some basics and answer any lingering questions you may have. Please find attached the flyer for this important event and we are looking forward to seeing you tonight!

With school starting next week, we wanted to provide all parents and guardians with a few reminders about attendance policies and procedures so we can start the year successfully. The school day begins at 8:15am and ends at 3:15pm. Students may not arrive earlier than 7:50am unless they are here for Before Care. Students who are dropped off at the school prior to 7:50am will be placed in Before Care and charged the drop-in rate for Before Care. Students may not stay at school past 3:15pm unless they are here with the knowledge and permission of faculty or staff for things like tutoring, student council, volunteering, etc. Students who are not picked up on time will be brought back into the school and placed into After Care and will be charged the drop-in rate for After Care.
Students who need to leave school early must be picked up and signed out in the office by their parent/guardian or by another person designated by the parent or guardian. Students who arrive at 8:15am or later need to be brought into the office and signed in by the parent/guardian and will be given a tardy slip to give to their teacher.
ANY STUDENT WHO WILL BE TARDY OR COMING IN LATE FOR ANY REASON, OR A STUDENT WHO WILL BE ABSENT FOR THE DAY MUST BE REPORTED VIA THE ATTENDANCE LINE BY 8:15AM. The attendance line is a direct-to-voicemail line that can be accessed by families 24/7 by calling the school at 937-492-9293 and dialing the extension for the attendance line. Any student absent after 8:15am with no call to the attendance line will be marked as an unexcused absence, and the school secretary will make phone calls to the parent/guardian regarding the child's absence. Please help make the office staff's morning go as smoothly as possible by calling and leaving a voicemail on the attendance line notifying of your child's absence or late arrival before 8:15am every morning to limit the number of calls that have to be made home. Keeping your child safe is our number one priority, and without a notification from you of their intended absence or late arrival, we have no way of knowing if they are safe or if something may have happened to them on the way to school.
If you have any questions or concerns about the attendance policy, please see the section in the student handbook, which is available on our website. Hard copies will be in the back of each student's agenda that they receive at Open House. We are looking forward to seeing you next week!

Parents and guardians - are you anticipating volunteering this year at Holy Angels School? All adults who wish to volunteer this year at any school event with minors present, such as a field trip, classroom aid or volunteer, field day, PTO sponsored events, etc., MUST be in compliance with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Safe Environment Policy. This includes several steps such as online training, and online background check, and more. All of this can be completed easily online at https://www.aocsafeenvironment.org/. We encourage all parents who think they will want to volunteer at some point to complete these steps now before school starts so that all you have to do during the year is keep up with the training bulletins, which you have 30 days to complete each quarter. If you already have an account, please login and ensure that your account is compliant and that Holy Angels School is listed as one of your locations. A new training bulletin was recently released for those currently registered on SafeParish and must be completed by the end of July.
